University of Florida

The University of Florida (UF), located in Gainesville, is arguably the most difficult state university to gain admission.  The University of Florida's application deadline is November 1st and their decision date is the second Friday in February.  The Student Self-reported Academic Record (SSAR) is due December 1st.

UF evaluates applicants based on academic core GPA from 9-11 grade and the strength of their senior schedule.

Students that apply to UF must send the application (which includes resume and essay), application fee ($30 which can be waived if on free or reduced-price lunch), all test scores (directly from the SAT or ACT testing website) and complete the SSAR to be considered for admission.  Students complete the SSAR by referring to Virtual Counselor or requesting an unoffical transcript in order to see what their courses and grades were througout high school (or middle school if high school courses were taken).

UF views the student holistically as well as academically.  It is VERY IMPORTANT to do a thorough job filling out the resume portion of the application (quantify all extra-curricular, athletic, employment and leadership experience).

All SAT and ACT tests scores must be received by UF admissions by Dec 31st to be considered.

UF has 4 non-traditional paths to admission (see links to the right):

Innovation Academy, PaCE, Gator Engineering at Santa Fe and Gator Design Construction and Planning at Santa Fe.
